Swan 2024
The Swan
The tool was born from putting two Spec Ops 2s together without the digit capture holes. At first, it might seem like we might have been going backward, but it opened up a level of combat capability that we hadn’t had before. It allows one to use four points to move an attacker around, much like a rag doll.
It got its name at the time we were trying to map the names of nature’s animals to our tools where we could. One of the Army students said, “Hey, that looks like a bird with its wings out. Much like a swan or a goose might do when they were defending themselves. Thus, the Swans name was born.
All the points can help deliver pain if the attacker punches, kicks, or grabs you. You can use any of the points to drill into bony areas of the body, such as the backs of hands, arms, or even soft tissue-like eyes.
It also comes with lanyard holes so that you can have an easy carry option.
The head of either end can be placed between fingers of a grab, and twist off the hold so you can escape. That is an optional feature rather than using the point to drill into their hands.
The sharp points can be placed onto a body and push the attacker away.
This Defender can also act as a severe takedown tool. Entering vertically between the attacker’s legs, then turning it horizontally, pulling back with the defender holding hand, and pushing the attacker away with your free hand, results in a face plant on the ground or them falling backward.
Once you turn the Defender horizontally and pull it back towards you, the points on either side dig into the legs or other body parts, causing extreme pain. That also creates the pivot leverage point of the throw to the ground.
As the tool came from a fusion of an existing tool, it grew in length from our normal sizes, around six inches, to be an eight-inch-long tool.
This tool opens up options that were not available before. Let’s examine the features list.

Any tool with sharp points cannot pass a TSA checkpoint. It is best to place your pointed Defenders in your luggage for check-on of any vehicle that requires TSA clearance.
This self-defense tool is extremely powerful and should only be used responsibly in genuine self-defense situations. Users must be familiar with and comply with all local, state, and federal laws concerning the use of a self-defense tool.
Additionally, it’s essential to review the TSA’s list of prohibited items on flights or similar regulations. Make sure also to understand the laws regarding the carrying of self-defense tools in any location where you intend to have them.
My tools, like those from Master Peter Brusso, are intended for ethical and legal use only, and this principle applies to all of my Defender products.
