Stealth 2024

The Stealth Defender

Like many great inventions, the Stealth Defender started as an accident. I, Master Peter Brusso, was making a Defender 1 model on the band saw when the head broke off. I was left with a sharp part of a handle, and I was initially a bit astonished as to what the heck had just happened. I wasn’t pushing the band saw at all; rather, I was letting it do its work slowly.

I turned off the band saw, held up the small part of the handle, and looked at it. I wondered what I should do with this broken piece. Well, the more I looked at it, the more I saw the potential for a small but rather “Aggressive tool.”

One of the fracture points was at the bottom of the handle, and I noticed it had a tail sticking out of the bottom. I took a break, went into the house, and got a cup of coffee, all the while looking at this broken tool. My family was getting ready for their day and kept coming by the breakfast table, looking at me, just staring at the broken piece of plastic.

I asked one of my twin girls to hold the broken piece so I could see how it fit her hand. Needless to say, I went back to work at the band saw and I invented the model now known as the Stealth. It’s small at only 5 inches long, 2 inches at the length of the head of the tool and a narrow, only one-half an inch across in the handle.

It has a very sharp point just poking out over your fingers, and it points toward your attacker. Thus, it can be used to stop punches, kicks, and grabs, much as the other larger sharp-pointed features accomplish. The top edge of the head was the first time we chisel cut any edges on our defenders, and the back of the head was a square, pointed, soft tissue-grabbing surface.

The surprising thing was the offset tail feature. It became not only a counter-grab feature but also a manipulation one, much like the “Claw” of the Defender one. Finally, I added lanyard holes for easy carry options.

The finished tool has a sharp point forward to stop punching, kicking, or grabbing attacks. It can also be used to push people away from you and gain space to run or to optimize a defensive position. The top chisel edge allows you to cut flesh and draw “DNA,” which is for a later discussion.

It’s extremely low profile, and on the back end of the chisel cut, there is a sharp area for tissue grabs. The handle, being so narrow, fits perfectly in smaller hands, but surprisingly, larger hands can also use it.

The off-set tail doubles as a point at which you can move your attacker around. When placed between the fingers of a grab and then twisting the tool, it allows you to break off grabs from your body very easily. It was difficult to believe that this small tool had so much capability.

Like all our other tools, the Stealth is made from Acrylic, which allows it to pass through metal detectors with ease. Full body image scanners are not so much, but any place where you need to walk through a metal detector has no issues at all. This feature can have real-world advantages, such as being armed for self-defense in many places or establishments in the world.

It also has a low profile that it is almost impossible to see what you are holding. Thus, the name “Stealth” seemed appropriate. Let’s review the features list.

Key Features:

  1. Compact size: 5 inches long, 2-inch head, 0.5-inch wide handle
  2. Sharp forward-facing point for deterring punches, kicks, and grabs
  3. Chisel-cut top edge for enhanced defensive capabilities
  4. Square, pointed back for soft tissue engagement
  5. Offset tail feature for counter-grabs and attacker manipulation
  6. Extremely low profile design for concealed carry
  7. Narrow handle suitable for both small and large hands
  8. Lanyard holes for easy carry options
  9. Versatile application against various types of attacks
  10. Potential for clip attachment (e.g., under a tie)
  11. Non-lethal design focusing on deterrence and control
  12. Access to free, 24/7 online training resources, including Stealth-specific video

This is a perfect tool for young women to own, carry, and use easily. I won’t stop at that point, as I have had some people get the Stealth with a clip on it and clip it on the underside of their work tie!

You have access to 24/7 online Defender training, FREE, on the website. The Stealth has its own small video on how to use it, but if you learn the standard training video techniques, much works the same way with the Stealth.

Any tool with sharp points cannot pass a TSA checkpoint. It is best to place your pointed Defenders in your luggage for check-on of any vehicle that requires TSA clearance.

This self-defense tool is extremely powerful and should only be used responsibly in genuine self-defense situations. Users must be familiar with and comply with all local, state, and federal laws concerning the use of a self-defense tool.

Additionally, it’s essential to review the TSA’s list of prohibited items on flights or similar regulations. Make sure also to understand the laws regarding the carrying of self-defense tools in any location where you intend to have them.

My tools, like those from Master Peter Brusso, are intended for ethical and legal use only, and this principle applies to all of my Defender products.
