In the Iraq war, we had some military that used the defenders. One of their use was to have it on a “fixed” lanyard (cord) around their wrist. While they were doing pat-downs, I got pictures of that and saw the fixed lanyards and saw the defender hanging down from their wrist. Now, this is a great way to deploy your defender as a quick whip will bring it back into your hand for use. I was not too fond of a fixed cord around one’s wrist as it could be grabbed and you pulled down. In comes our own Dr. Q, and he came up with a cool breakaway wrist lanyard.

We have also made a new lanyard that works just like the old one except it can fit on your wrist. If you carry your defender while you run or even search someone, we like to have a lanyard to “drop” the self defense weapon so you can use both hands. So, if you carry your weapon in your hands and need both hands, you have to put your self defense weapon “somewhere” while you use both hands. Well, this new lanyard allows you to have it “dangle” from your wrist. However, I have not been a fan of lanyards tied to my wrist so an opponent can grab it thus control my arm. Well… read on!
We are super happy to announce that we have a great new defender self defense weapon holder the “Clamshell” Kydex holster. We have been looking into this kind of carry option and it fits ANY of our tools!
I love this clamshell, it works very well. Please note that it is for people who are right handed. I am both handed ambidextrous and so it doesn’t matter but I first clipped it on my left side and noticed that right away.
However, it deploy to the rear nicely as well.
I like putting the head of the defender down to the bottom of the clam shell and and that way I don’t pull the clamshell off my belt or pants pocket.
