Kidnappings do happen! What can we do? Well, one thing that we can do is arm our children with the knowledge of how not to get kidnapped. Also, we can give them a fighting chance with a Self Defense tool. This might be just the right approach for teens, and I (Master Peter Brusso) prepared my 3 girls not to be kidnapped. All my girls learned how to use a defender and carried it everywhere with them. They also learned martial arts, and to this day, each girl has had to defend themselves! Here are some statistics to ponder:
The U.S. Department of Justice reports
- 797,500 children (younger than 18) were reported missing in one year studied, resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day.
- 203,900 children were the victims of family abductions.
- 58,200 children were the victims of non-family abductions.
- 115 children were the victims of “stereotypical” kidnapping. (These crimes involve someone the child does not know or someone of slight acquaintance, who holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands a ransom, or intends to keep the child permanently.)
I was even told the other day that human traffickers were putting out their “wish list” of kidnap types to many street gangs worldwide! They would pay real good money for particular types of kids if the gangs could kidnap them. Imagine that! So, thus this package is for you to help put this into your anti-kidnap strategy.
What is self-defense for this mission? In this situation, you have to do lots of damage very quickly; then, you can get away, call for help, and/or get to a safe place. Always increase your skill sets about your active self-protection by taking a martial arts class, survival class, etc. Or take some self-defense classes and/or self-defense techniques to increase your skill sets. You can find many free lessons online, even such as this website.
