Grip Tape

I started using Grip Tape for my weapons way back in the day. I used it on many of my knives when I was in combat in the tropics. It improved the grip of the tool immensely. So, as the Defender line started to take shape, I wanted to use the “Grip Tape.”

The tape that we need to use is more permanent, and therefore, once it’s on your Defender, that is it. If you want to move it and reuse it, that might not work at all. So, if you purchase the Grip Tape from us, make sure to tell us which Defender you want it applied to.

If you ever need to use your Defender, it will be a high-stress situation. Holding onto your Defender is critical for your self-defense, and therefore, this Grip Tape is an essential add-on.

If you need to wear gloves or mittens, this Grip Tape helps you hold your Defender against the fabric of your gloves. Even if the gloves get slippery from water or the like, the Grip Tape can really help you hold onto your Defender.

If you want to apply the Grip Tape yourself, that’s no problem. To apply the tape to your Defender, clean both areas where you intend to place it. Then, pull the paper backing from the tape we provided and apply it to the Defender’s handle. You do the same procedure on the other side of the handle. That’s it!

The Tape can be used on all the defenders. The Grip Tape placement is a personal decision based on how you hold the Defender. Where your fingers are going to be when you use the tool is the critical part. That is where you should put the Grip Tape.

Safety is paramount when it comes to your Self-Defense, and that boils down to the ability to use the Defender. If you can’t hold onto it, then it can’t work for your safety.

With all its applications to weapons, this Grip Tape adds a significant level of effectiveness at a meager cost. In my knife fighting classes, I always ask what the most important part of your choice of knives is. Is it the blade? Is it some aspect of the blade shape?

The most important part of a knife is the handle, and that is true for a Defender, too. If you can’t hold onto your knife in combat, that is a bad thing. So, to parallel that thought, what good is your Defender if you can’t hold onto it when it gets wet?

The Grip Tape works on all Defenders. Its application drastically lowers the odds of losing hold of your Defender. Even under a kinetic attack on the hand holding the Defender, it helps to retain it there as well.
